China will continue to drive its state-owned enterprise reform this year. That was the word from a government meeting chaired by Vice Premier Ma Kai over the weekend.
Supply-side reform, creativity, and supervision improvement were major topics for the meeting.
The meeting also agreed to establish a mechanism to encourage innovation and allow progress through trial and error. The government is keen to revitalize China’s large state-owned sector, and several SOEs are in pilot programs to test the waters.
