2016 marks the China National Theatre for Children's 60 anniversary. And to celebrate the special occasion, the theatre has prepared a series of performances throughout the year. 45 dramas will be staged.
For more than half a century, China National Theatre for Children has put on numerous classic and diverse dramas for audiences, such as Malan Flower, Magic Boat, Tadpole Looks for its Mummy, Peter Pan, and Idiom Stories. The classics will be staged during this year's performing season. In total there will be 350 performances in 50 cities around the country. There will also be a special exhibition, displaying the theatre's 60 years' development.
Founded in 1956, the theatre is the only national children's art troupe directly subordinated to the Ministry of Culture. It has borne the responsibility of inheriting, developing, creating and presenting excellent theatrical performances for China's youth, and also played an important role of representing, demonstrating and guiding national children's drama.
