Growth in the East Asia and Pacific region has remain resilient and is expected to ease only modestly in the coming three years. This is according to a new World Bank report.

Growth in developing East Asia is projected to ease to 6.3 percent in 2016 from 6.5 percent last year. Growth in the next two years is expected to stay at around 6.2 percent. The World Bank's forecast for China's economic growth is at 6.7 percent in 2016 and 6.5 percent in 2017. That's in line with the 6.5 to 6.7 percent target set by the Chinese government earlier this year. The decreasing numbers reflect China's gradual shift to slower and more sustainable growth.

The report, which is published twice a year, also points out that countries in the region should continue to prioritize monetary and fiscal policies to strengthen credibility, while deepening structural reforms.
