China's Meteorological Center has lifted a blue alert for rainstorms as downpours abate in Southern China. However, heavy rain is still expected in Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong and Guizhou. China's weather authority estimates that rain will cover large parts of southern provinces in the next ten days.
The precipitation in those areas may reach one or two times higher than the average of the past few years. The cumulative rainfall is expected to be between 200 and 240 millimeters in some regions. Experts warn of secondary disasters brought by the rainfall.
