Myanmar's newly-appointed State Counselor, Aung San Suu Kyi, says she will seek to have political prisoners released for Myanmar's upcoming new year later this month.
Aung San Suu Kyi said the release of political prisoners is one of the new government's priorities. She said she would seek a presidential amnesty or court rulings to release the prisoners.
