Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp hopes to make it a happy return, as he takes his new team into their opening leg at his old club, Borussia Dortmund.

The German previously coached BVB for seven years, leading the Black & Gold to a pair of Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League Final. His focus now however, is not on the past or even the future, but the task at hand.

He said:" It's a real challenge for both teams. If we are not good tomorrow, then it will be easy for Borussia Dortmund, but why should I think about this? And why should I think about the next round?"

"So there's nothing ... we have the highest mountain to climb with Borussia Dortmund ... but it is possible. It's absolutely possible. That's all we need, so let's play football and talk about it afterwards if maybe, yeah."

Klopp facing BVB for first time since departing last May

This evening's other quarter-finals include defending Europa League champs Sevilla on the road against La Liga rivals Athletic Bilbao. Another Spanish team, Villarreal, will host Sparta Prague from the Czech Republic. And Portuguese side Braga welcome Ukrainian opponents Shakhtar Donetsk.
