Full coverage: 2016 Rio Olympics

The Chinese Basketball Association has released a list of 23 players that have been invited to training camp for the national 12-man Olympic team will be comprised of the players named on this list.

According to the basketball association, the players have been divided into three groups to register for the national team. The earliest date for registration will be April 5. One name missing, that of the coach. Gong Luming led China to the Asian Championship title late last year, but his position is still not decided ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

At the Rio Games, the Asian champion will face two-time reigning champion the USA in its opening game. Its second opponent is still to be determined, and will be one of the teams that comes out of final qualifying. Venezuela and Australia will be the next two opponents for China, and it will play another team out of the final qualification round in its last game of the pool stage.
