French President Francois Hollande has abandoned a bill revoking citizenship of convicted terrorists amid resistance. 

Hollande announced in a televised statement that he was closing the constitutional debate on the reforms after the National Assembly and opposition-dominated Senate failed to agree on the text. 

The French leader had proposed the reforms after Islamic State group suicide bombers and gunmen killed 130 people across Paris last November.
