Nyingchi has been the first choice for Lhasa citizens to go sightseeing in Tibet. Most of them prefer self-drive tours and some choose package tours, said Yang who works with Tibet's Tea-Horse Road Travel Agency.
The golden season to visit Nyingchi starts in April every year. This year, the Prefectural Tourism Bureau will introduce various kinds of theme tours in different seasons following the peony festival, namely, idyllic scenery tours in June and July, glacier and hot-spring tours in August and September, Yarlung Zangbo Canyon tours in October and Tibetan New Year folklore tours in Gangbung in November.
