Special Report: Shanghai World Expo 2010 |

The Expo has spawned 150 new publications, with most of them serving as guides to assist visitors of the grand event and the city itself. As our next story tells us, the books offer handy tips for tourists from near and far.

Most of the books contain the latest information about the World Expo in Shanghai. The Expo Performance Guide, for example, offers a catalogue of the planned 18,000 shows that will span the 184-day event. And the English version of 100 Landmarks of Shanghai offers a historical look at the development of major Shanghai attractions. The book is expected to be a popular item among international tourists.

The books on offer provide much more than the basic Expo facts. A 40-volume set titled "The World Through the Eyes of Diplomats" is written by 40 Chinese diplomats to foreign countries and contains rare photos. The set will be available at the China Pavilion when the expo opens.

Also, "Shanghai, Her Dream, Aspiration, and Pride", edited by famous photographer Yang Shaoming, will be available on April 22nd. The book offers 61 exclusive Shanghai photos.
