Polish ministers in Moscow to help identify crash victims

WARSAW, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Polish Health Minister Ewa Kopacz, head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery Tomasz Arabski and Deputy Foreign Minister Jacek Najder arrived in Moscow on Sunday to help identify bodies of the victims of the presidential plane crash last Saturday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Piotr Paszkowski told the Polish news agency PAP that Kopacz, Arabski and Najder will deal in Moscow with "all issues related to assistance" in bodies' identification and the care of victims' families.

He added that on Sunday two planes were available for family victims.

The spokesman underlined solidarity shown by the Russian side which prepared accommodation for all relatives and lifted visa requirements. Visas will be issued to them upon arrival at airports.

Government spokesman Pawel Gras said Sunday also in Poland all bureaucratic barriers were lifted.

Three groups of Polish experts cooperate with the Russian side in Moscow and Smolensk, namely forensic experts identifying the bodies, prosecutors and aviation accidents experts, Gras said.

On Saturday morning, a Polish government plane carrying a delegation for the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime crashed at Smolensk, 18 kilometers from Katyn where WWII Polish officers were murdered 70 years ago.

All 96 passengers aboard the plane were killed including President Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria.
