M7.2, M7.1 quakes hit Chile

BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Two strong earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.1 on the Richter scale hit Chile at 10:39 p.m. and 10:55 p.m. respectively Thursday, according to a bulletin from China's national seismological network.

The epicenter was detected to be 34.2 degrees south latitude and 72.0 degrees west longitude.
