SANTIAGO, March 4 (Xinhua)-- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Thursday that a new 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit Antofagasta in Chile's north region.

The USGS said the earthquake was not related to the one registered on Saturday in the center-south region of the country.

This new earthquake had its epicenter 87 km northwest to Calama, 1,574 km north to Santiago.

To the moment there is no reports of casualties and material damages.
