PYONGYANG, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), during a recent tour of North Phyongan Province, inspected road construction work and called for improving land management, the official newspaper Rodong Simun reported Thursday.
Kim inspected newly built roads in the province and expressed satisfaction over the construction work, the report said.
Kim urged all departments and units in the country to pay attention to land management so as to "hand down to the posterity a more beautiful country."
Conservation of land resources and protecting the environment was important work for improving the living conditions of the people, Kim said.
The report gave no date for Kim's tour.
