With the development of CCTV’s multi-lingual overseas service, the satellite coverage and bandwidth in Africa is changing. A more powerful KU band of Eutelsat-W7 will replace signals from IS-10 and IS-1R.
W7(El 36°)has begun transmitting CCTV-4/9/F signals. CCTV users in the western and central parts of Africa who used to receive programs via IS-10 or IS-1R can continue to receive CCTV programs after they adjust the angles of their antenna and parameters of their receiver. Those who have switched to W4 need to readjust the reception parameters. CCTV4/9’s temporary signals on W4 will stop issuing on February 15, 2010. See Table 1 for specifications on W7 parameters.
