BRUSSELS, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Construction output in the euro zone dropped by 1.1 percent in November 2009, compared with the previous month, the European Union (EU)'s statistics arm Eurostat said on Tuesday.
Year on year, the eurozone construction output declined by 8.0 percent, Eurostat said.
The eurozone construction output fell by 0.4 percent month on month and by 6.7 percent on yearly basis in October 2009, according to revised figures.
For the 27-member EU, production in construction sector decreased by 0.6 percent in November 2009, compared with the previous month, and by 6.7 percent over a year ago.
Among the member states for which data were available for November 2009, construction output rose in six and fell in six. Slovakia registered the largest monthly increase of 13.7 percent, while Slovenia recorded the sharpest drop of 4.5 percent.
