Four of the eight officers just arrived in the city on Tuesday. They serve in China's peacekeeping forces in Haiti.

A Chinese rescue team of more than 60 people left Beijing for the Caribbean island Wednesday evening along with 10 tonnes of food, equipment and medicines.
