Chinese government expresses sympathy after Haiti strong quake

BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government expressed deep sympathy after a strong earthquake hit Haiti on Tuesday local time, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said here Wednesday.

A magnitude-7.0 earthquake hit Haiti on Tuesday, collapsing a hospital and damaging government buildings in its capital city of Port-au-Prince.
