RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Adriano, the superstar of Flamengo's soccer team, finally arrived at the team's pre-season training in the Sao Paulo city of Porto Feliz on Thursday.
The striker and co-author of the Brazilian Championship's award of most goals scored with 19 goals (tied with Diego Tardelli of Atletico-MG) was given permission to extend his holidays in order to resolve some personal issues.
His arrival on Thursday to the Traffic Training Center in PortoFeliz was late. He was expected to take part in the morning practice but failed to appear.
Reaching the facility in the afternoon, Adriano took part in his first workout of 2010 with the rest of his teammates.
The only other members of Flamengo's team who are not yet in Porto Feliz are Leo Moura, who underwent a routine surgery to remove a tumor in his nose, and Petkovic, who remains in Serbia on vacation.
Additionally, Ronaldo Angelim, who has yet to renew his contract, is absent from the pre-season workouts.
