An icy and silver world with stunning beauty looks to brighten the holiday winter season, after the Shenyang International Ice and Snow festival launches on chessboard mountain on January 11th.

With the start of the new year, more than 100 ice sculptors are in intense preparation for the big event. 2 large, life-like snow sculptures of Chinese historical figures, Genghis Khan and Zhuge Liang, are nearing completion.

Keeping with the theme of history, a replica of the Taihe palace, which used to house the Chinese emperor's audience hall, unveiled its roof. After completion, the ice Taihe Palace will be 120 meters long and 20 meters high.
