Afghan president presents ministerial designates to parliament for approval

KABUL, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday presented the much-awaited names of ministerial nominees to Wolsi Jirga or lower house of parliament on Saturday, an official with parliament told Xinhua but declined to be named.

Majority of the nominees, according to the official, are former and sitting ministers.

Meantime, the lower house of parliament with speaker of the house Mohammad Yunus Qanooni on the chair, began discussion on the subject this morning.
