Although Tibet has been now in the slack tourist season since November, the scenic spot of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is still "hot" as it has received 50 tourists each day, according to Bo Yazhou, a staff at the scenic spot.

Lying at an altitude of 3,100 m, Nyingchi Prefecture, southeastern Tibet, is known as the "Jiangnan (warm and fertile areas south of the Yangtze River) in Tibet" with its humid weather, luxuriant vegetation and beautiful natural scenery.

Neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter, Nyingchi boasts a number of world-famous scenic spots including the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the Namjagbarwa Peak, Bomi Glaciers, Lake Basum and Lulang Forests.

The natural landscape and folk festivals being held in winter make the prefecture a hot spot in winter tours to Tibet.
