SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) warned South Korea, saying it will take "merciless military measures" to draw a new inter-Korean border in the West Sea and South Korea will pay the cost for a recent naval clash, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Friday.

According to the DPRK's Korean Central News Agency, a DPRK military official sent a letter to South Korea on a recent naval clash, vowing "merciless military measures" to secure the west sea border that it has drawn, Yonhap reported.

"The South (South Korea) will have to take the full responsibility for destructing reconciliation of the Korean people and hindering peace and unification," the official was quoted as saying by the KCNA, adding that South Korea will have to take a painful toll for it.

The letter is on behalf of the DPRK military, representing the official stance of the military over the importance of the recent incident, the official said.
