SINGAPORE, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday called on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to go back to the six-party talks while attending the APEC meetings here in Singapore.

She said the decision to send U.S. special representative Stephen Bosworth to the DPRK in the near future was made after "extensive consultation with partners within the six-party process" and she reaffirmed the visit is "not for negotiation, but efforts to pave the way for DPRK's return to the six-party talks."

The United States has made the purpose of this visit clear to the DPRK, she said.
