Chinese vice premier calls for mutually-beneficial co-op with France

BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with France Financial Minister Christine Lagarde on Wednesday, urging the two countries to conduct mutually-beneficial cooperation.

China-France relations have recently displayed a sound momentum and the two countries have resumed and strengthened pragmatic cooperation in various fields, Li told Lagarde.

China is willing to work with France to follow the right development direction of bilateral relationship and push forward China-France comprehensive and strategic partnership, said Li.

The world is facing emerging problems such as imbalanced development, climate change, food and energy security as the global economy is under recovery, said Li, urging the two countries to promote common security, deepen international cooperation so as to achieve stable and sustainable economic development.

Lagarde spoke highly of China's measures to boost domestic demand, saying France pays high attention to bilateral relations and is ready to make joint efforts to safeguard security and development.

In the company of a business delegation, Lagarde arrived in Beijing Wednesday.
