PANAMA CITY, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Latin American countries, including Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela, began a series of meetings on Wednesday in Panama to discuss the purchase and use of the A/H1N1 influenza vaccines.

Jose A. Escamilla, representative of the Pan American Health Organization, told Xinhua that participants will "define the procedures and the priority groups to receive the vaccine."

The participants would also discuss their countries' needs and the amount of vaccines needed to meet the demand of their people, Escamilla said.

The specific amount of vaccines for all regions and nations would be determined at the end of the meeting, Escamilla added.
