"An operation has been conducted since Friday in Baghlan-e-Markazi to target a known group of rebels believed to coordinate and direct militants activities in the area, "police chief of Baghlan Kabir Andarabi told Xinhua. "As a result, three Taliban commanders Mullah Shahzada, Mullah Shikh and a foreign national were detained."

ANP searched the compound discovering weapons and other related items, Andarabi added. "An ambulance which has been taken by militants form district hospital was also found."

The official also said that the operation would be continuing to wipe out all militants form the province.

Taliban militants have been attempted to infiltrate in Northern provinces as NATO forces recently used northern part of the post-Taliban country as a new corridor to their military convoys.
