KABUL, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Taliban militants amputated a hand and a foot of a man in Herat province west of Afghanistan, police said Thursday.
The militants, according to police spokesman in the province Noor Khan Nikzad, arrested the man and chopped his right hand and left foot in Kushk-e-Kohan district Tuesday.
He did not give more details.
The militants during their six-year reign ended in 2001 often publicly stoned to death men and women for adultery, executed for murder and amputated limbs of thieves and robbery.
