The Frankfurt Book Fair is considered an extremely big event among those in the publishing industry. This year's Fair is set to open on Tuesday and for the first time, China will be the guest of honor. Theme Pavilions have been designed to showcase the speciality of each participating country. Let's take a glimpse at the final touches being put on the Chinese Pavilion.

With the themes of Tradition and Innovation, the Chinese Pavilion is full of oriental flavor.

In the over 2000-square meter-hall, designers and construction workers are fixing up installations, including a paper mountain, a book wall and an ink droplet. All of these items were inspired from important elements of Chinese culture.

The 39-meter-wide paper mountain rises into the air, with a wall of books circumscribing the hall. It's made of ten thousand tomes.

In addition, over one thousand hand-carved wooden Chinese characters will be arranged.

Li Jiwei, chief designer of Chinese pacilion, said, "I want to use a visual, artistic and modern way to explain Chinese culture. It is such an old and developed culture, it has been difficult to showcase it in such a small room. I chose four representative elements to create such an image."

During the five-day book fair, the Chinese Pavilion will also put on 25 cultural activities.
