HELSINKI, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Nine Afghan soldiers are receiving artillery training at the Artillery Brigade in Niinisaloin western Finland, Finnish media reported Monday.

According to the Finnish Defense Forces, the week of artillery training formed part of measures to harmonize the procedures of the Afghan National Army and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force. It is hoped that the training in Finland would enable these trainees to train Afghan army artillery soldiers backhome.

Finland has about 200 soldiers serving in Northern Afghanistan as part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
