Special Report: 2nd China-Japan-ROK Summit |
BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Lee Myung-bak, President of the Republic of Korea (ROK), arrived in Beijing Friday for the second meeting of leaders from China, Japan and ROK.
The meeting, scheduled for Saturday, will be chaired by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and attended by Lee and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.
The meeting is aimed at reviewing the trilateral cooperation since it was launched in 1999 and laying out plans for future cooperation. The leaders will also exchange views on international and regional issues of common concern.
The first meeting of leaders from China, Japan and the ROK outside the ASEAN plus China, Japan and the ROK framework was held in Fukuoka, Japan in 2008.
