Domestically produced films will play a big part in people's celebration during the upcoming National Day holiday. Patriotic spirit, heroism, warm hearted stories of ordinary people all of this can be found on the big screen during the holiday period.

One of the films recounts the lives of some mineworkers in southwest China. The film's title is "Memory of the Clay Plateau", and the cast is led by veteran star Zhang Fengyi, who plays a entrepreneur raised by mineworkers.

"The Earthquake", which tells of the moving rescues during last year's Wenchuan earthquake, is another film expected to draw large crowds during the National Day season. The film is led by Li Youbin, who is known for his tough guy roles.

"Tour of Thanksgiving" is a production centered around a boy who suffers from a crippling disfunction of his limbs. Backed by his father and the whole society, the boy regains his strength to fight against the illness.

"Glittering Days", portraying the lives of ordinary people living in a community in the southern part of Beijing, is filled with the particular brand humor familiar to Beijingers.

There is also a drama that revolves around the heroic accomplishment of six women during war time in the 1940s China, called "Six Sisters of YiMeng Mountain."

Zhang Hongsen said, "Forty films to celebrate the National Day holiday will hit the big screens in China. They feature different directors, scriptwriters, different themes and styles."

On top of the National Day Holiday film list are spy thriller "Message", and the film that set a record for the number of stars gathered for one movie, "The Founding of a Republic".
