New TV drama marks National Day

Our next large cast comes straight to your living room fortunately by way of the small screen. This week, the 50-episode production called "Liberation" marches onto CCTV's flagship channel.

The historical war epic depicts events during China's three-year War of Liberation. It documents some of most significant battles between the Chinese Liberation Army and the Kuomintang army. The cast and crew were separated into two teams to simultaneously shoot the scenes in multiple locations around the country.

And most of the shooting took place at the actual site of the battles. The entire production features a cast of hundreds, and the story includes more than four-hundred named characters.
