PARIS, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Office of Investigation and Analysis (BEA) announced on Thursday that they have suspended the second stage of operation research and failed to find the black box of Air France flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic on June 1.
"The search failed to locate the wreckage of the plane," the BEA said, adding it will meet international investigators and specialists in next few weeks to analyze data collected with a third phase of research and identify ways and means of this.
Air France Airbus A330 flight 447 plunged into the Atlantic en route Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1, killing 228 people on aboard. The cause of the disaster still remains unknown.
