Special Report: King of Pop Michael Jackson |

BEIJING, August 19 (Xinhuanet) -- The doctor at the centre of the investigation into Michael Jackson's death has broken his silence by posting a video message on the video sharing website YouTube. Dr Conrad Murray, who was at the singer's side when he died on June 25, thanked his supporters and assured them he had told the truth.

In the minute long video Dr Murray said he was afraid to return phone calls or reply to emails and so recorded the tape to let his supporters know that he had been receiving their messages. "Your messages give me strength and courage and keep me going," Dr Murray said, "They mean the world to me." He asked his supporters not to worry saying that he would be fine "as long as I keep God in my heart and you in my life".

In the last few seconds of the taped message he refers to the statements he made to Los Angeles police. "I have done all I could do. I told the truth. And I have faith that truth will prevail," Dr Murray said.

Over the last month, Dr Murray's home and two offices connected to him have been searched by police. Murray has been identified in court records as a suspect in a police manslaughter investigation, but no charges have yet been filed.
