Tian An Men, a film named after Beijing's iconic landmark, has wrapped up production and is going to hit the big screen ahead of the 60th anniversary of the founding of new China. Director Ye Daying escorted cast members, including star Pan Yueming, to a promotional event for the film.

After five months of shooting and a half year of post production, the movie "Tian An Men" will open at theaters on September 3rd.

The story in "Tian An Men" revolves around a team of stage art workers given the task of refurbishing Tian An Men Tower a month before the founding ceremony of new China.

Pan Yueming, who leads the team, regards it as a big honor.

Pan, a native of Beijing has deep feelings for the city's iconic building.

Actor Pan Yueming said, “When the director choose actors for this role. He asked me what I recall when I think of Chairman Mao and Tian An Men. I thought for a while and said I was two years old when Chairman Mao passed away, but I still recalled that my grandma led me to the residents' committee to stand in a long line and cry. Another thing I recall is my father collected lots of stamps with Tian An Men Tower on them. One more thing is that I'm a Beijing local. I've watched the national flag raising ceremony at Tian An Men Square since childhood. So it's a honor for me to star in this film.”

Director Ye Daying came up with the story ten years ago. But the technology of that time couldn't support his ideas. A decade later, the technology needed to realize all his ideas was available. In one scene, Pan stands behind chairman Mao, with a smile of achievement, which owes thanks to some special effects.

The film "Tian An Men" is the last episode of Ye Da Ying's red trilogy, following "Red Cherry" and "A Time to Remember". "Red Cherry" stars Xu Xiaoli and Guo Keyu reunite again in "Tian An Men".
