The Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, July 18, 2009. The Yellow River narrows and cascades dramatically into a stone pond more than 30 meters below, creating the famous Hukou Waterfalls. Recent rainfalls on the upper reaches of the Yellow River have brought a heavy load of sediment in the form of sand and mud, making the water yellower than usual.[Xinhua]
