Mousavi's aide banned from leaving Iran to "clarify unrest issues"

TEHRAN, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Iran bans one of the aides of defeated reformist candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi from leaving the country until he elaborates on aspects pertinent to the recent post-election unrests, the local satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.

Abolfaz Fateh, head of the Mousavi information committee, "has been banned (from leaving Iran) because of (his role in) recent developments and his efforts to arrange for the illegal gathering of Mousavi's supporters," the report said.

Reportedly, Fateh will remain in Iran until he can "clarify certain issues" regarding the protests over the vote results.

Fateh, who is a former managing director of local ISNA news agency, has helped the defeated Mousavi during his election campaign, according to Press TV.

Since June 13, when Iran's Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli announced that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won 62.63 percent of the total ballots while his main rival Mousavi got 33.75 percent, major cities of Iran, especially Tehran, have seen a series of violent unrests over the alleged "frauds" in the election.

Iran's police have arrested more than 450 people in the post-election violence that erupted last Saturday in Tehran despite warnings against illegal gatherings.

Tehran has attributed the unrest management to the Western countries and to Iran's oppositions residing in the West.
