Iran's Guardian Council says it will recount 10-percent of votes in Iran's disputed election. The effort is aimed at calming opposition protesters who claim the results of the June 12th election were fraudulent. Speaking on state-run television, Council spokesperson, Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei, confirmed the recount.

Abbas Ali Kadhodaei, spokesman of Iran's Guardian Council, said, "Although there is no legal duty on us, we are ready to recount 10 percent of all the ballot boxes around the country randomly in the presence of the respective representatives of the candidates to reach certainty about the accuracy of the disputed election."
