CARACAS, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan Health and Social Protection Minister Jesus Mantilla said Monday that the country's three confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu, reported since May 28, are all under control.
The first patient has finished treatment, while the other two are being treated well and are in stable conditions, Mantilla told a press conference.
"We are sure that there will not be more difficulties. We have all the medicines and we are ready for other cases," Mantilla said.
Venezuela's National Institute of Hygiene has tested 224 samples, from which 216 were negative and three positive. The institute is still waiting for the results of the other five samples.
The Venezuelan health authorities declared a state of emergency last weekend after registering on Thursday the first case of A/H1N1 in the country.
